2013 Bog Removal

This winter proved to be an unusual one with the late ice out and late snow falls, except with one commonality of 2012, a rise in our lake level. Again, as our lake rises, bogs tend to detach and find their way down our river; clogging our dam. This year we were able to get a bog removal permit earlier and before there were too many bogs blocking the water flow over our dam. Fortunately, we had a volunteer crew made up of Big Pine Lake residents to help remove these horrible bogs. Here are some before and after photos of all of the hard work these volunteers did.
