Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners approves Planning Study for Big Pine Lake Water Control Structure
On Tuesday, October 8, the Board of Commissioners for Crow Wing County approved a request by Tim Bray, County Engineer, to fund a Planning Study by the local consulting engineering firm, Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. SEH was selected from the three firms that recently responded to a formal Request For Proposal for planning study services for the Big Pine Lake Water Control Structure. This is the first step toward understanding what practical alternatives may be available to provide a more permanent and reliable water control structure for Big Pine Lake. The first major task of this important study is to gather information regarding the history of our current rock dam, as well as, resident concerns. The Big Pine Lake Association Board of Directors will have an opportunity to communicate such information to SEH and the County staff in the near future. All Big Pine Lake property owners are considered stakeholders in this project so their input is needed and welcomed. “Please reply to the e-mail below to share and explain any concerns or suggestions you have for our lake as it relates to our current rock dam. The Board of Directors will consolidate all feedback and present it at the appropriate time during the study project.
